sleepy you're a daddy. now where do i collect
my kids support?

it's amazing---7 nanny goats and 6 are ready to kid.
the only billy in the lot with the nannys is sleepy (he's the very
smallest billy we got) and he knocked up all of em cept dottie.

one dropped her kid just a little while ago and we expect the
others to kid today or tonight.

little sleepy's been a busy boy-----now when do i start
getting support?

Hahah! Thats too funny Dawg.

If you are looking to unload some of them when the time is right I can get in touch with a former co-worker of mine in the Asheville area. She uses them for her business that has something to do with being all green and eco friendly and using them to clear overgrowth rather than going in with machines.

sold to a new owner months ago and was away from the
nannys long before that---so just sayin.
the new kid is a billy and cute as well a baby goat.
should have more newborns today or tonight.

it's amazing how much 8 goats can eat. we just finished a new lot
to turn em into and i could see a huge difference in just one week.
we're still working on the fence where it crosses the creek but
finished enough that they don't escape.

the others are still cooking their kids but the new kid got to
go to the new lot today. anitas having fun messing with em.

I have seen the fence but never looked at it. What does it take to keep a goat contained?

had quite the scare yesterday. all the goats and kids were in
the new pasture when a bad storm blew in. we were in the house
watching out the window and saw orieo running up to the barn with just
one kid in tow. after the rain we (and the mom) looked and looked
and could not find the lost kid. finally after about 2 hours anita was
in the right place at the rght time and heard a faint baaaa. even after
hearing it it was still hard to find---hidden under a bunch of blackberry
bushes. she pulled it out dripping wet and shivering. we had a towel
on hand so we dryed it off and took it to the barn with it's mom.
within moments it was back to suckin tit and happy to be with
it's sibling.
glad it worked out this time. sometimes it don't.

well molly and marlene had their kids last night and today.
both had twins. so in the period of 3 weeks we doubled the size
of our herd. 9 kids--all healthy and doing well. out of the 9
2 of them are not black with white ears. the other 2 are
gray with black boots. they a hoot to watch play.

yea we lost one over the weekend. marleen developed complacations
from childbirth and had to be put down sunday. she had birthed two
kids but had a third that didn't deliver---vet performed a csection
but it was to late as her uterus had ruptured. bad day at hangin hawk
goat farm. now anita has to bottle feed twins for at least 3-4 weeks.
shes doing good.

Robert what does a section of fence cost? I really want some goats to help keep my dad's grass in check. With work its hard to find time to get over there and now all that grass.... Ughhh... Sad

let me do some figuring. i'll let you know.

the motherless twins are doing good. they are taking to the
bottle and feeding regularly. we ended up with 6 billys and 3 nannys.
gonna get some of the billys denutted so they will not stink
and fight like a regular billy.

Just get 50' of light chain and hook it to your spare tire. Put a collar on a goat. Every couple days, move the spare tire around. The rednecks will think the aliens have landed on your farm cause of the goat circles.

Southern States might be a little cheaper. TS does have volume discounts though.
