My girlfriends family ALL have motorcycles, and finally her parents picked up 2 running bikes. So that lead to this....

I wish it would stop raining so I could put some miles on this baby, and get back to work on my Tacoma...

I took a riding class when I got my R6 back in 08. It was worth every penny.

My new bike is a 2005 Yamaha R1. Pretty much bone stock, minus the slip on Yoshi's, chrome wheels, low pro LED turn signals, and hella bright projectors. They turn night into day, even with a tinited visor.

Brian,

You arent alone on that one. Its why I have always passed on buying streetbikes. Ill chance it eventually lol. I know a liter bike is too much for me and I like the nimble feeling of a 600 or 650 class sport/streetfighter style bike. Drooling over an Aprilia Tuono R right now but just know its too much damn bike for me.

I didnt realize it was yours. I thought you were saying it was your girlfriends.

From my experience the difference in a 600 and 1000 is pretty dramatic, especially on the lower side of the tach. Have fun with it.

honestly, this 2005 R1 feels lighter and handles better than my 2007 R6. I was looking at 600s, but for the same money you can have a 1000. Just like a car, the throttle only goes as far as you push/twist it.

It both of ours. She really wanted me to get a bike, so we are splitting it. (its pretty much mine though)

This R1 was ranked 4th or 5th when is came out in over all power, mainly because of its flat bottom end. It really feels alot like my 600 till 8,000, then it starts to really get moving all the way to 14,000rpm. This bike is rated at 150hp at the wheel. I dont mind it being a little short on the bottom end. Im not a fan of pulling the front wheel off the ground.
