We all took a beating this weekend. I only got a few pics. Sorry for the early departure guys. Wifey is doing better.

I started us off with a bang

Kyle followed with a broken Long

Robert sheared off the trunion pin on his hi-steer arm.

And Anita broke a nail.

I left this morning, but reports are Kyle broke another Long, Daylon broke his front diff, and Brad broke his steering shaft.

I borrowed a 27 spline old school marfield from a guy from Michigan after breaking the long. Rode for about 45 minutes to the first challenging spot and broke the marfield minutes later. Oh well, thats what warranties are for.

Daylon got the front ring and pinion (we believe) on Rattlerock later in the day. We said screw this and left last night at about 8:00. Rolled in about 2:15 this morning.

Awesome place to ride and rattlerock is as tough of a rock trail as i have ever seen. I'll be back for round two. Cool

Like Kyle said, it sounds like a full auto shotgun going off in my front axle, My fan burnt up, and I'm still having running my puppy at 230*F+.

Mangler diagnosis is a broken center pin, if you are running a lunchox style locker.

I am running a lunchbox style locker. It came with a "hardened" center pin though? I guess we will see once it comes apart..

btw... are you coming to Harlan?

oh and rattle rock IS as hard as everyone says it is.
i need to shout out a great big thanks to kyle, daylan and
big ed for spotting, stacking, jacking and winching.
i hope it wasn't too hard on you guys.
ed says we only winched once but he wasn't around the
first time kyle had to hook me up. and really we were still
making forward movement but i felt like the left front was
6 feet in the air so we pulled it down just for safety. at the
top i got high centered on the rear driveshaft and the front
musta been nosed into a ledge cause winchin alone just wasn't
gettin it. so the guys used the highlift to get the front up enough
that we could bump up and get traction. man that was a tough spot.
i'm really happy to say iv'e run rattle rock just so i don't have
to do it again. (well maybe on a perfect day with plenty of help)
big ed says we ran it with less problems than LOTS of well built
rigs on 40 and larger tires. but i couldn't have done it by myself
and i give much credit to good spotting and moral support.
you guys are the greatest.

oh and the rain on sunday made tha trials owl snot slippery.
on the way back from the windmills we hit trail # 3. not hard at all
when dry but all 3 of us had to pull cable at the top. (crazy dangerous
spot at the top.)

let me tell ya about my run in with barney. (the security guard)

saturday late anita and i had been up the hill to z mans camp.
fired up the truck and headed down the hill. pretty much
idled along in 2nd gear-- maybe 12-15 mph.
rolled into the gravel going to my camp and didn't speed up
or slow down. pull into the camp and before i could get out
up walks the "guard". now don't get me wrong i respect
law men as much as the next guy but i get out of the truck
and i swear this guy is shorter than my old lady and probly
a good 20 lbs lighter. guy says slow it down a little buddy
you was going too fast. and to that he adds "the speed limit
is 15 mph around here" i say i'm sorry and tell him the speedo
don't work and it's had to tell EXACTLY how fast i'm going.
he walks off without another word. (gun on his hip weighing
down his pants on one side) and i think to myself " what a p*&^y"
hot rod jim jim revin and roarin lettin them pipes talk and not
a word was said. but let all my peeps get gone now he's gonna
get brave and have a talk with me. little creep i guess jim jim
was too big and healthy for him to scold so he picks on a cripple
2 DAYS LATER. I HOPE IT MADE HIM FEEL BETTER. the old lady
and i got a big kick out of it. give a little man a gun a suddenly
he's one huge mofo.
rant off.

me love you jimmy.

I'll get JJ to tell you about the rent-a-cop at Bristol Speedway the other week. Same exact thing. Give him a gun and the shoulder chip is a bonus. I was loaded and told him precisely what I thought of him Laughing

Kyle almost ran over the guard at the trail head Saturday. Just before that, Kyle, Robert, and myself almost ran over Chris Stretch on his single speed moutian bike coming down the main trail. Robert was by far the closest though.....

I was cruising down the main paved road coming down the mountain, slightly faster than the posted limit, but i was also fighting a broken marfield that wanted to make my steering lock up, so i wasnt going but so fast. Come around a blind corner and one of Chris's spandex brothers was in the middle of the road. He ran to the side and i waved. As soon as i went by he goes right back to the middle of the road in the blind corner and i see robert sliding down the road trying to miss the dude.

Then we get to the parking lot and im cruising by at problably 25 mph. I see a 70 year old man on the side of the road on a four wheeler. Instead of waving his hands or yelling or anything like that he gets up off his four wheeler, waits until im 20 feet from him and runs into the road infront of me like a kid chasing a ball into the street. I lock em down and say "whatcha doing man?" as i slide to a stop. He says "i wanted to make sure you saw that 5mph speed limit sign over there"

Guess he figured scaring me was the best way to get my attention Laughing
