Got the truck back from L&N Performance up here in Boone. This was my first dealing with them and it will not be the last. Lucas and his mechanics up here have done some top notch work and kept me in the loop throughout the whole process.

The truck now has new Up Pipes with new bellowed connections, a new turbo inlet and a Wicked Wheel compressor wheel in the turbo. Long story but they found some booty fab by a previous mechanic and could have just slapped it back together with the new wheel and sent me on my way. Instead, a few days and some more new parts later I couldn't be happier with the truck. No more boost leaks, no more compressor surge and a rebuilt turbo. Cant wait to see how it acts with a trailer behind it now.

Should be...Noticeable differences. More turbo whistle, Less boost loss between shifts and no boost spiking then bleeding off. With any luck I will have some Dyno numbers when I get back from Charlotte on Friday.

Before Tanzania I installed a Prodigy P2 brake controller. That thing is the jam. With the dual braking axles on my trailer it made a huge difference. I like this controller mainly because there is very little lag between when you press the pedal and the brakes are applied.

Brown Santa is visiting the house/shop today. I kinda feel bad for him because my driveway sucks and nobody will be there to help him unload this stuff.

(4) 285/75/16 BFG A/T in an E Range
4 Bilstein HD Shocks

Some MileMarker SS hubs before winter and this thing should be set. The factory "automanualFordsucksatthinkingthisshitthrough" hubs are a pain to deal with. So I'm just replacing them all together. I don't mind getting out of the truck to lock the hubs in the winter, thats what jackets are made for. At least I know my 4wd will work.

Nothing exciting and new. Just some routine maintenence. Replaced a front wheel bearing this week. Damn the price on these things has come WAY down from when these trucks first came out.

Still havent swapped out the hubs yet. Got the factory ones working again so just rolling with it til its an issue.

With this oil change Lucas and Adam up at L&N are going to do a full motor flush and oil additive called "REV-X". Look it up on the PSD forums but its supposed to be the sh&%t for these motors with oil fired injectors. We might get some before and after Dyno #'s if I can get on my friends rollers over Thanksgiving break.

Been doing some work on this thing the last few weeks. Now that I am back in the big ol clusterfawk of Charlotte I got tired of trying to drive, shift gears and talk on the phone so I replaced the craptastic factory Tape/CD player with Pioneer's new AVH-P2400BT head unit. Complete Bluetooth hookup to my phone and can operate the Ipod features straight off the touch screen. Calls come in, I hit the green button and can hear the caller on the trucks speakers and there is a small mic mounted in front of my gauge cluster. Reverse camera works like a champ too. Oh...and its wired in "so my passengers" can watch TV while I drive. In true redneck fashion Justified season 1 is in there right now. Very Happy

Sam's older brother Mac has some Warn Premium hubs he took off his 03 when he traded it in so I will be swapping out the horrible factory vacuum lock/autotrash hubs for something more reliable. Ive broken the plastic dials on the factory ones too.

Typical boring shizzzzz like fuel filter, drain the fuel/water separator, oil change, new 6637 BHAF Napa Gold air filter etc. This new ULSD fuel is crap. I find myself changing fuel filters with every oil change now and they look like they did at 10-12kmi. Gotta replace the other front wheel bearing I didnt do in November and get the truck re-aligned, but gotta wait for the fun stuff before alignment.

On to the fun stuff, the 10 year old leaf springs are sagging in the front. Theres about a 3" difference at the wheel well arches right now from front to back so a 2.8" "mini pack" leveling kit is on the way. Filling the new gap will be some 315/75/16 Nitto Trail Grappler MT's. I was just not happy with the BFG AT's this go round. Two punctures from small rocks and they wore like crap even when my alignment was perfect.

Pretty sad my first set of Racelines wont be on a rig. One thing led to another and these will be here at the end of the week/early next week as well as a new set of 315/70/17 Trail Grapplers. Long story short, a mistake on the tire shops part and I ended up getting the hookup on new tires AND wheels.

Oh snap, Racelines on the tow rig......blang blang.

I had never realized they made those wheels without beadlock rings. Should look good.

I didn't either until we started looking at wheels and the guy pulled those up on the screen. That settled it since they couldn't get the Fuel Hostage.

I still laugh when I read this little segment. There is so much win in this. It is almost worthy of being quoted into the classics thread.

Haha Brian I still laugh every time I read that too. So damn funny.

Teaser...tires and wheels went on today but they fucked up again and forgot to order the black lug nuts. Should be here in the morning and I'll post pictures when I get the truck cleaned up and everything buttoned up.

A few more pics

Before I cleaned the truck and got the black lug nuts on.

Sprayed the hubs black and got the black lug nuts finally.

Got a set of Warn premium hubs for the front sitting in the shop. Mac took them off his 6.0 truck before trading it in since his new 6.4 cant use them due to the new trucks having 35spline outer shafts. Should look pretty cool with the black hub body and the gold dials of the Premiums. Probably going to throw Sam's old headache rack from the Dodge in the back of my truck too. Just need to trim the feet to fit my bedrails.

Thanks guys!

Daylon, the Toyota is somewhere in Kentucky now. Still have my trailer. Decided it was time to move on and take care of some priorities. Paid off most of my student loan, put away some savings and fixed the Ford which was in neglect. It's still the tow rig but for now it will tow other peoples junk and my stuff when I move. As soon as my internship is over there's a chance I'm moving to Tampa, FL. Have a few applications in all over FL. Keeping my fingers crossed for this job with Life Fitness/HammerStrength fitness equipment.
