after a short search, i lucked out and picked up a new tow rig last night. she's a '99 dodge 3500 4x4 quad cab long bed dually. has the cummins with a 5 speed behind it and 4.10s. pretty fancy inside, with all the bells and whistles offered except leather. 146k on the ticker and she's completely unmolested. already has a gooseneck hitch and brake controller. i'm planning on doing a few things to this one such as; black powder coated 19.5s with a little bigger meats, 5" exhaust, smoked marker lights, towing mirrors, tint, and some gauges. i'll put some pics up tonight when i get home...

Dayum. Nice rig. I'm looking for something new myself. Maybe a Suburban, I don't know yet.

Ahhh so ye got it did ye? Damn that truck is clean man. Nice find. Just be wary of that 5th gear nut if it hasn't been adressed already and I think you will be fine. Wouldn't mind having one of those trucks myself.

pulled the tow rig in the shop this weekend and stayed pretty busy. popped the bumper plastics off and went to town with some krylon fusion spray paint (for plastics this stuff is awesome). i just couldn't stand the lower plastic being gray and the upper being black. also blacked out the grill while i was at it. even though she was pretty clean when i brought her home, i spent a lot of time cleaning the truck to my standards and put a fresh coat of wax on her. i put a new set of batteries in, a new air filter, oil and fuel filters, wiper blades, de-silenced the turbo, and deep sixed the chrome step bars. and to finish out this round of mods, i bolted some towing mirrors on this afternoon...

i'm bored at work, so i'll update this build. installed a quadzilla scout monitor for gauges. mounts right on the a pillar, and still keeps the factory tweeter. nice unit, digitally monitors just about anything you would mount a gauge for, in a neater package. also allows me to set warnings for anything from EGT temps to highway speed. also has a 65hp/200tq program and an 18% mileage program built in that i can access from the on screen menu. the factory lift pump was close to taking a crap on me, so i ordered an airdog lift pump. completely replaces the factory pump and mounts on the frame rail with all new line, wiring, and suction tube in the tank. bumps up the flow rate and makes changing the fuel filter a piece of cake. next up i added recon smoked cab lights and fender marker lights. horrible design and even worse customer service, but with some tweeking and straight wiring them to the truck, they worked out alright, and look pretty good on the truck. i also tinted the tail lights and rear marker light bar while i was at it. just used VHT nightshades. 3 coats and 1 coat of clear, and it turned out pretty good. i also dropped the truck off at dustin's shop to have the front windows tinted to match the rear and a strip done across the top of the windshield. the guy he uses is the stuff, he had to remove some old crappy tint also, and did a perfect job. last but not least, daylon helped me put full 5" exhaust from the turbo back last night. sounds awesome. no tip for right now, but plan on adding a 6" black tip very soon. no pics with me, but i'll put some up when i get home...

Nice rig man. You gonna do any more power adders or keep it like that? I got a set of 6 19.5's for sale if you are interested. Came off a bread truck so they are 8 lug. They have tires but are dryrotted so i don't know if they could be used. $400 negotiable. Pm me if interested.

thanks for the compliment man. this is my 2nd cummins and 5th diesel, kinda burnt out on the high performance mods. always end up with something broke. when the quad stuff is working right, the truck runs great, so i think i'm just gonna stick with what i've got. i'm actually supposed to pick up some 19.5s this week. preciate the offer though...
