Did you get all your tires mounted up on the narrow rims?

Yea, got them all mounted up. I had to go back to wheel spacers to make up for the back spacing. I was messing around yesterday, and a rock pushed up on the bead. The tire burped some air out and kept going.

If nothing else, the rims will keep the side walls pulled in enough to run on with almost no air.

That's actually the opposite of what you would think, The sidewall actually flexs alot more on a more narrow rim and makes it come off of the bead alot more often. Keep an eye on them especially on the road going through turns. Just my tire $.02

hmm good to know. Thanks.

Dustin that is exactly opposite of what everyone in the offroad world says.

A wide tire wants to be wide right? If you have a 15" wide tire on a 15" wide rim, the sidewall is not pushing against the bead of the rim very hard at all, so its easy for it to burp air out.

Now you take that same 15" wide tire and put it on an 8" rim, and that sidewall is pushing against the bead like crazy because it wants to be wide again. That keeps more pressure between the sidewall and the bead, allowing you to run lower pressure without worrying.

I agree that the sidewall may be less stiff like this because its all bubbled up from being squeezed on a narrow rim and the sidewall will be more likely to "roll under" the rim than it was before, but the pressure between the bead of the tire and the bead of the rim is still going to be a lot more when you squeeze that wide tire on the little rim.

Daylon will have big bubbly sidewalls that wont hurt the truck offroad because he is going slow, but the tire will be pushing on the bead of the rim more than it was when it was on his 12" wide rims.

I completely understand......I did not know that this thing was 100% trail only now. If it were going up and down the road I would completely keep my statement back. But im asking for a refund.

This weekend I rolled the bead again on my right front tire.. Mad

I had michael let some air out of the tires, which where still set at 20 from harlan..

What am I doing to that tire? everyone acts like I should be able to run 5psi in those tires and never have a problem..

Has anyone used weld on bead locks? Im getting tired of rolling the bead.

any Ideas? I have a few months to think and work on something before Harlan comes around again...

I have a set of 15X8 bullet hole wheels that have been beaten to crap that would be a perfect candidate for weld on bead locks.

Been a while since I posted here....

Michael earning his keep.. Frame getting plated for..

New ECGS brake line.

Still need to get the header off and straightened out.

Funny factoid.. The 4runner body is now 3"s shorter after I bumped the rock on rattle rock.
