I've got rears up front. You can use the factory front crossmember with no problems, and for shackles, i would just call Bud at Budbuilt and order a set of Banana shackes from him, they work perfect.
Depending on how heavy the front of your truck is, you may need to add a leaf or two on each side, but that is just something you will have to experiment with.
The springs ride great up front, and will move your axle foward 2" or so. They also flex pretty good for very little money invested. Mine will max out my 12" travel bilsteins in both directions....

This is one of the best parts about running rears up front. They provide a little lift, flex well, move the axle forward. Moving the axle forward allows you to run bigger tires without hitting the cab.

Yes they work great out front. In my rig buildup you can see that travs runner and the turbo toy are both running them. the turbo is just a stock set off of the back of a runner, the set on Four runner we added a leaf because it is a bit heavier

Did yall have to move your steering boxes forward? I've got an 86 4wd IFS frame and steering box with Datin Off-Road hi-steer kit. It looks like there may be a clearence issue with the pitman arm and the tie rod if the front end goes forward 2".
I've been out brainstroming this this afternoon. I don't think the flat pitman arm will work, will hit the bottom of the frame. I'm thinking, instead of moving the steering box, why not shorten, re-drill and taper the drop pitman arm I've got? I don't see how it would weaken it any. Might loose some turning radius, maybe. Any suggestions? I might just say fawk it and order a set of those trail gear springs.
No tech advice, but I think that your truck is WAY too clean and well-painted underneath. You need to let Carl the MudRacer drive it for the first two hours at Harlan - he'll get things in shape for you.

One of the benefits at work is "free" black spray paint, after wheelin I don't wash her down I just paint over dirt and all with more spray paint! Unfortunetly they quit ordering flat black.
