Home made shackles?

I wasn't sure if some home made shackles would be too weak for a trail rig. What do you guys think about it.

I dont see why not if you take your time and do it right. But for the cost of materials and the time it would take you to make them, it is one of those parts thats probably just easier to buy somewhere.

Id call up Bud and get some of his laser cut shackles

I already have a sheet of 1/4" and a bunch of 3/4" bolts. This way I can get the ride height the same if the springs dont match up correctly since I am putting different kinds of springs front and rear.

i would use 1/4" and then brace them in the middle if you're gonna make them yourself

thats exactly what I'm doing. We got all the shackles cut now just need the braces. He used a holes saw for the bolt holes and it worked out really nice. I'll get some pictures later.
