Every three years the ttora takeover comes to the east coast. This is our year and it's going to be held in Harlan, KY. Harlan is always a good time and never seems crowded, even during the big events. You guys can show those ttora SASed tacomas what a 1st or 2nd gen can do. Very Happy

I bet they all leave either shitting on themselves or giving a lot of props to South East wheeling.

Actually, I guarantee it.

Hope they bring a 'change of clothes' for their MTR's!

Guys, I've been contacted by TTORA and they are looking for trail leaders. Maybe one for xtreme trails, because they have a couple already, and 2 or more for moderate trails. Anyone looking to lead a "stock" group is needed also (Sleepy Gives thy a finger ). You will be "staff" for the event I assume. You will be guaranteed a spot in a cabin, they are all reserved by TTORA already. Any takers ?

So im assuming there having a group of stock toyotas going. If thats so I might try to make my way up there for this one. It would be my first trip with ya'll. Would this be a good one to go on for a serious 4wheelin NEWB?

This will be one of the better opportunities. Mountain City is always good because it allows the group to stay together. Harlan is normally just ok because while the group might be able to stay together you'll be doing a bunch of watching as we run the stuff that leads to carnage. However, the takeover will have loads of groups of all vehicle capability levels so you can stay with us one day and do a bunch of watching and wheel with the ttora guys another day.

If I was you I'd probably wheel with a mild group the first day. If you're going to hang with Shawn, Kyle, Jamie, me, etc. the good shows will be later in the trip. Nobody wants to break the first day.

Ill make plans to go then.
I don't mind watching either i can probably learn alot from watching how the big guys do it.
I look foward to meeting everyone.

Depending on the turnout, there will be several groups. Usually it's about 50% stockish 30% mildly built rigs, and 20% hardcore guys. Of the hardcore guys, half will break and be finished on the first day. This would be an excellent chance to get some seat time and learn the capabilities of your rig. It will also be a good opportunity to learn a lot from some experienced wheelers. Perhaps the best thing about it is making lots of new friends and put some faces to some screen names.

methinks i'll be going...just gotta remember to go slow thru tennessee this time...i went back in sept and left with a $179 speeding ticket

in any case...theres plenty of trail riding to be done by the stockers with ample opportunity to see the big boys play on the heavy stuff...

i really enjoyed myself last time

I am definitly going to try and make the August trip, by then maybe some of my friends that live around me will have there rigs finished. Just out of curiousity one post mentioned that 30% mildly buit rigs, what is considered mildly built as far as componets?

Get some sliders and you will have fun and NO WORRIES in the rock garden. I had a ton of fun running it and we have a similar setup.

Damn, I miss Harlan.

yeah im still trying to decide what i want and where im gonna get them from etc...ive run a lot of stuff at harlan already...but im ready to start learning to do the tougher trails...and the sliders are the only thing left i NEED to get i think....i feel like i should get a hilift at some point...but its not high on the list

a big problem with sliders for me is getting them welded on...the offroad shop here wants to charge me like 150 a side...which is incredibly outrageous i think...and i dont have the tools or skill to do so myself...nor do any of my friends
