heres an idea i built for my tacoma awhile ago thought i might post the build on it. Got the anchor idea from ARB bumper about cutting the front part of the frame then welded a 1/4 steel plate in the frame end with two holes drilled and two 1/2inch welded nuts to the back side of the plate. The brackets are just made from 1/4 flat steel welded to a 2x3 3/16 wall tubing. the bumper itself is made from 4 inch angle thats 1/4 thick. this thing anit going anywhere with eight 1/2 grade 8 bolts holding it to the frame. then i cut the center out of the bumper and welded a 2 inch receiver which some in very handy to have up front, can handle a winch

ok, here is the game plan................... I want you to run into something really, really, really fast and take pictures of what ever you run into. Laughing Lord knows it will be royally screw'd up! Laughing

Is that a bumper or a "cow push"? It should hold................ Very Happy

forgive me if i'm wrong, but shouldn't there be some bracing somewhere up top? It looks like if you hit something hard enough it would put alot of leverage on the 2 2x4's going to the frame and possibly kink the frame.

Or am i missing something in the pics?

Is it just me or did you weld over the bolts that hold it on...

So if you want to take it of you will have to cut it back off?

Bumper looks mean..

It looks like he cut out the last 2 or three inches of the bottom of the angeled piece so that he can still get to the bolts.

Ya I did cut a slot in the angle piece to get to the bolts,l really its easy to get it off, i didnt weld over them like someone suggested that wouldnt be very smart.
