Does anyone know what kind of alternator to use to replace the stock 60 amp for a 1988 toyota pickup. I need at least 110 amps or more. Also please explain how to wire it in. Thanks Very Happy

The GM CS130 is a popular mod for these trucks, but I have a better idea. Why not go to a car stereo shop and ask them about getting a high altnernator? Another option is to have yours rebuilt and rewound so that it makes more amps. The general rule is that it costs about $1 per amp.

BudBuilt used to make a few Chevy one wire alternator mounts. I know that is what I went with. I put a Chevy one wire alternator on it, and did away with the external regulating toyota chit. Simple and less mess. Google Toyota chevy one wire conversion and see what you find.
