I'm getting ready to buy a set of 36x12.5x15 tsl's and am thinking about what wheels to mount them on. I'm wanting to 7"-8" wide, right now I have 10" wide steelies on the truck. I've got a set of factoy (87 ifs) wheels I'd though about running, but am worried about backspacing. I have an IFS rear and 1.5" spacers up front currenty. I'm a Toyota pureist and think I would be cool to run the stock wheels, but will buy new wheel if need be. Any input would be appreciated.

my 38x12.50's are mounted on 10 inch wide wheels with 2.5'' back spacing. They stick out wide for a more stable stance, but they still look skinny as hell on the 10'' wheel.

My main concern is trashing the lip of the rim on rocks with 10" wide wheels. I was thinking 7-8" would give them a little more protected by the tire.

Well, nevermind on this one. I pulled the right front this afternoon and fitted up the stock wheel and damn, I see why these were ditched for something better back in the day, If I didn't have spacers up front , the inner rim would rub the tie rod ends. I'll be getting new wheels and tires. Rolling Eyes

Had you not scrapped the idea, I would have been concerned about center wear of the tire. Thats alot of inward pull on the sidewalls.

Lets keep it alive.

I ran 12.50's on 8" wide rims. The tires wear fine, if you know how to set the air pressure. I still beat the sh*t out of my rims though.
