Made the short hop down to URE Sunday to shadow Jason and his 1st gen, till one of the jets started dumping fuel for some reason. Right after that I some how rolled the right front tire off the bead... Confused A guy in a pretty nice Jeep stopped and let me use his OBA and I was back in the game.

Got a few pics, and word is there are some videos somewhere but I dont have them yet..

Wile we where trying to work on the Jason's carb, some jack wagon in a black and neon green RZR came flying down the trail splitting our group in half missing one by just a foot or so. about 25 yards from where we stood was Jason's Toyota. To keep from plowing the truck head on he cuts left and smacks a tree, taking a good sized chunk out. With out missing a beat he slams it into reverse and backs up just far enough to get a good running start and plow this tree again. This tree btw, is about 10-12"s in diameter.. the second time he backed up, he left enough room to clear the tree and sped off showering half our group with dust and rocks. About 5 mins later his buddys came rollin threw laughing about there but hurt friend rushing back to the trialer. He didnt even have a cool RZR, it was a base model... Laughing

All in all URE was a bust. We went down then up Daniel once, and waited behind every bone stock jeep and they stopped to get a photo of there mess "flex" on anything bigger than a bowling ball...

1. does a bear crap in the woods? Heck yea it was dusty!!!
2. aside from almost getting mowed down by the RZR and trying to keep the jeep and Sammy that was with us it was kinda boring..
3. Crusty?
4. whoring? what?
5. Once the jeep guy showed up with is air, about 90 seconds
6. He didnt, he took it back to the trialer and took over the back seat of the 4runner. Any ideas why one jet would dump fuel and the other work like it should?
7. yes, we cooked hot dogs at the bottom of daniel.
8. the food or wheeling? A bad day of wheeling is better than any day at the office...

Thanks Robert. The 4runner went to URE with that Harlan Co. mud on it. It didnt leave the trailer hardly since then.

It has an electric pump from the factory. The carb was rebuilt this summer. If you are standing at the grill looking at the motor there are 2 barrals, he barral on the left (closest to the head) was the side pouring fuel. I didnt get in there and see what the hole looked like, but I thought thay said jet, I dont know. When they pulled the upper half od the carb off everything looked ok, but it was still laoding up and flooding out.

with the breather off, one barral looked dry and the other was soaked in gas..

The float was hanging. You could have shut the truck off, tapped all around the carb with a heavy screwdriver or wrench, problem solved.

Ok, So what would cause it to stick? I didnt see any gunk in there? the needle looked clean and is less than 6 months old?

Shawn is very likely right... Way back in the day, when my carb only had about a year of use on it after a rebuild, the float would hang occasionally. It usually happened after i had been hammering on it a little, but not always. It would load up with fuel and not run. First time it happened Shawn tapped on it with a screw driver and it fixed it. I ended up doing it probably 10 more times after that over the next few years, then one day it just stopped and never did it again. I've been around 1 or 2 others since then that were doing the same thing and a little bit of tapping around on the carb fixes it every time. Might not fix Jason's, but i bet Shawn is exactly right.

Go on....

What is it off of? I am carboretor dumb, so in light of that, can I use a base plate from his current carb?

It came from the blue truck that we stripped at Tanzania. It's been inside ever since.

sure I'll give it a shot... not sure how to get it from you.

How often do you see Sleepy? Sleepy lives right behind the toyota dealer Jason works at.
