This is going to be a bit long winded so bear with me. I have been messing with this for what seems like forEVER. I have had the problem since 2007 but garaged the truck and used my other vehicle and I went into "I'll get around to it" mode. Well, it's 2012 now, and I'm getting around to it. While driving, the engine likes to just shut off on me, no warning no hesitation, nothing. Sometimes it will start right back up and other times I get stranded. Turns over fine but doesn't even make an attempt to run when it does "stay broke". The ignition coil fixed it for about 2 weeks the first time it hard broke and wouldn't run. Then it did it to me again. Another ignition coil and it was good for about a week then the same thing. So I figured something was eating ignition coils, or perhaps just crappy aftermarket ones. So, I went like this. Plug wires, cap, rotor, distributor, ignition coil, ignition control module (igniter) and changed them all. Needless to say, it was all for naught because the problem came right back the following week. The fact that it is intermittent is killing me. I can fix broke, however I can't fix intermittent. I was hoping to get a little input on some known problem areas that could cause this sort of thing. [/img]
