Sometime when I can get the money saved up, I will get Justin to build me an exo. I have been looking at pics of what others have done and have compiled my favorite ideas. What do yall think?

For the roof, I want something like this.

I like this design over the front part.

But I want to be able to open my sunroof. So I was thinkin about a loop like in this pic to tie the bars in.

I love these fenders.

And for the sides and where the top ties in, something like this.

I like how the roof section is raised over the upper rails like this too.

Kinda goin for something like this as far as the lines go.

What do yall think? Anything to add or take away. I dont want a jungle gym look but I do want to keep my body as straight as possible (kinda late for the pass side A pillar).

worked on it for a little bit.
Nothing too fancy.
i didnt go through and put all the gussets and connections needed, just some basic design ideas.

if its something you like, i can get more involved, and make it alot nicer looking. just takes some time to do nice sh&%t.

if you want more ideas, im game.

Lets wake this thread up!!!

Hey Brian, I like some of the ideas you posted up. and not crazy about some others. First, the cage that you said you liked the fenders looks really good and i'm sure alot of design went into it but aside from looking nice I think those vertical curved bars on the fender/hood edges sure look like they will get caught on alot of trees.

I like the hoop for the sunroof clearance. Thats a nice touch.

What are your plans for the hard top? Keeping it? want to be able to remove it? Have you thought about a "hybrid" type cage to give you some sort of internal cross bracing? I'm not suggesting drilling 6 holes in your roof or anything like that...Only crazy people do that ;)

If you want, email me some pictures of your rig from several different angles and i'll see what I can come up with.

Good catch. I didnt even think about that. This is the reason I am asking for opinions.

My plan is to keep the top and have it removable. Once I have a cage, I will remove the factory roll bar so the top will slide straight out the back. I thought about cross bracing, but I want to keep the rig as water tight as possible. With everything being welded off the frame, any holes in the body would have to be large enough to allow the body flex. I really want the inside to stay as functional as it is now (back seats and ability to sleep in the back without having braces running everywhere). Im not going to be racing this truck and most of my flops or rolls will be slow (hopefully). I would like to make my main hoops out of DOM and most everything else out of HREW.
