i want to make sure this is right.i just got a 5 speed for my truck. and i told the guy it had double shackles on the rear with 63's. he told me that the one that lays flat against the frame should be welded to the frame.if not i want to make before i do so. thanks guys for all the help.i'm trying to get this truck right before i go any where in it. other than just driving it on the street.

there is really no reason to weld them to the frame other than to lessen axle wrap. They will cause the rear to hop when spinning.
