as the guys that trail ride with me know
i've been having trouble steering my rig for the last few runs.
in mtn city last trip it locked up & would'nt steer.
but it went back right away to steering right.
and it's been super hard to turn latley.
well after the flop at the flats the steering
locked up completly.
i jacked it up and it steers good-let it down
& put weight on the tires and it locks up once more.
so last nite i pulled the box and it feels good.
but when i cycle the wheels from side to side
by hand i can feel a stiff spot both coming and going.
so it gots me thinkin i got a bad trunion bearing.
it's been 5 + years since i rebuilt the axle &
i'm thinkin i had a bad bearing before the last flop.
and when rollin her back over the hard hit upon
landing just finished it off. funny thing is the wheels
are still standing up straight. thats possable tho i guess.
so my afternoons for the next few days will be tearing
it down & building it back up.(whoo hoo loads of fun)
i've already got a knuckle rebuild kit. i think i'd be a good idea
to put the bearings in both sides while i'm that deep into it.

so would you guys go back with stock stuff or get the
"new & improved" ones from marlin or whoever?

wish me luck & smartness.

I would upgrade now, because it is such a PITA to break back down again.

I have a NISSAN with things done to it and stuff.

2005 F350 6.0 4x4 tow rig
2000 Nissan Xterra trail rig
2010 SR5 4Runner 4WD stock
