WELL If a Big company like WERNER. Would shut down 900 trucks for one day, that would save them $935000 atleast because if you think about it most of the trucks hold 100 gallons or more of fuel in just one day. Thats alot of fuel consumption in one day...

FWIW, I've seen a bunch of internet chatter about this strike since you first posted this. It's all the same, people are saying that it's loosely organized and will not work. If I was a trucker I would probably work tomorrow and wait for a more widely supported strike.

Having said that, even if the strike was well supported I just don't see any way it could bring fuel prices lower.

There is alot of fuel burnt in a day.I know i use about 110 gallons on a normal day.Me personally unless my boss tells me to shutdown I'll still be running.Unless I start hearing reports of people getting bricks thrown at them. Then I'll shutdown.Otherwise it'll be business as usual.I'll be headed for PA in a few hrs so we'll see.

My step dad is a independent truck driver and even though fuel prices are skyhigh, hes gotta run to make money. He says hes gonna run until he gets shot at...its happened before.

some people take this really serious...unless some of the major corp. shut down...nothings going to happen.

the only thing you can fault the pres. for is not jacking up the intrest rates to strenghten the dollar. if you cannot afford to pay for your house maybe you should not have gotten an arm... idiots
