my nephew is building a new house on the corner i sold him
a few years back. they have dogs--we got dogs, chickens and goats and
the last thing i need is some of their dogs killin chickens or goats.
i'd have one pissed off b*tch if all that started happening. soooo
we get the privilage of running close to 1600 feet of fence. we had started
this project a couple years back and got some of the wood post installed
then. we got most of the material purchased and on site now so we're
gettin back to it.
it'll be nice to let the dogs run free and not have to worry about em
gettin in the road and such and on top of that the 21 nanny goats will
be able to free range in the woods all around the property. (6 billys
stay seprate)
over the last 2-3 weeks we been clearing the right of way and planting
grass--i'd say we got about 1/2 of it ready to install fence. we're using
4 foot sheep and goat fencing with 8 inch+ wooden corner post with
steel T post on the run. it'll look just like what we put up 3-4 years ago
going up the driveway.
anita is really enjoying sheparding the goats and lets em out to free
range about every other day. she has a new (9 week old) anitolian shepard
great pyerines (sp) mix puppy that lives with the nanny herd and is learning
quickly. these dogs are bred to do shepard work and are called "great
shepards" pups gonna be a big un i'd expect it to end up being in the
90-120 lb range when it's grown.
i can't wait to get a gate up on the driveway to deter the witnesses,
door to door salesmen and the random wrong turn --looking for someone
else (sure) tweeker types. i done fires off the ol shot gun a couple times
when someone just pulls in and turns around so i think i'd feel safer
with anita being there by herself so much. she ain't afered to fire it off
neither and keeps it by the back door.
oh and on top of that project we're putting up doors on the garage
building and fabbing a small gold dredge for a local guy so we keeping
our hands busy.
thanking god every day for good health.
