I've been beating my ahead against a wall here. My passenger window has come loose from the bracket that supports the glass. It will roll up, but the bracket separates from the glass on the way down.

I can't figure out what holds the glass in the bracket. There is just a rubber seal in the thing. Is it just pinched in there? Doesn't seem to be glued.

Anybody have any idears on to repair this dang thing?

what i have done is----take it apart and take the window completly
out. take out the track thinghy that holds the rubber. put the rubber
in the track and the glass in the rubber (a little glass cleaner will
lube it good enough to allow the glass to slide in) it should be
a tight--very tight fit. if it ain't tight enough use some pliers
to squeeze the track thing to help hold the glass in there. install
the glass back in the door . use some wd-40 or other lube in
the tracks that the glass slides up & down in too as that always helps.
hope you get some success. you might apply some glue to help
hold the rubber in the track too.

Obviously, duct tape was my first option. Very Happy

My second option was to butcher an extra door and transfer that glass w/bracket to current door. I had not removed glass from a car before. Didn't really enjoy it. Was totally paranoid about it breaking suddenly. However, it all worked out and now it's all working again!

Good idea about putting lube on the seals. That made the insertion much more enjoyable. Wait . . . what was I talking about? Embarassed

Yep, you will probably fit in around us.

This idea probably wont work on the jump seat in an extra cab though.
