Guys, keep your eyes open for a car trailer. I would like to find one before Harlan. Like to keep it under $1600.

Looks like I will be picking up a used 7x18 7000# trailer tomorrow. $1800 with brand new tires. Dealer has it listed for $1400 and he will throw on new tires for $100 each and I keep the old ones (2 are still decent) as spares. Ill try to get a pic up in a little bit.

nice trailer right there. a little splash of paint and it'd be good to go.
hows the brakes? do it look like it was abused? sounds like a good
deal to me.

I did, but I think the 7 ounce weight limit kinda killed that for me.

It is a really heavy duty landscape trailer. Brakes on both 6 lug axles. The sides that you see in the picture is the "frame". The 5" channel tongue runs all the way back to the axles. The sides are 11ga formed steel. They wrap 2" under at the bottom and act as the frame for the back half. At the top, the sides wrap over 2" with a 1" lip from there. I think that it is just as strong as a 3" channel frame. If I need to strengthen it, I can add 2x4 steel tube all the way down both sides on the inside of the trailer and weld the crossmembers to that as well.

It is a factory built trailer and pulls great. I just pulled it from Rock Hill, SC to my office in Belmont. With my brake controller on 6 (where it was before I hooked to it), it will lock all 4 tires. I bumped it back to 4.5 and it slows me down great with just the trailer brakes.

The trailer weight on the title is 1700# which will fit in great with my tag. 6000 Tundra, 4000 pickup, 1700 trailer leaves me 1300# for beer and whatever else.

I think I am beyond driving this truck to the trails. I was planning on either buying a trailer before this trip or using a uhaul again. It is just too nerve racking to drive 4.5 hours up there in a trail rig.
