What do yall know about full hydro??????? I have a new orbital , I want to run the right size(diameter) ram for it. Anybody know the deminsions that would work for a good setup. Here's my info on the orbital. I can get a 1.5x6, 2x6, 2.5x6 ram to get the turn ratio I need for 4 turn lock to lock. I posted on nc4x4 and wasn't sure of the info, so if someone would chim in., is much appreciate it.

Factory pump will leave a lot to be desired on a full hydro setup. I tried to cheap out by modding my stock pump but it still blew donkey nuts. You can cheap out on the orbitals and ram for the average trail rig but not the rest of the system components. I learned from trial and error when I built my hydro system from scratch. Prob around $750 in it all by the time I was all said and done. Still about $500 cheaper than most full kits.

Biggest reservoir you can fit, run at least a -10AN feed line from the resi to the pump. Also, mount the resi as far away from the headers as possible but as close as you can to the intake port on the pump in order to have the shortest feed line possible, or just build a heat shield. Mine suffered from serious heat soak issues from the first place I mounted the resi. I ran the largest TrailGear pump I could get: 1650PSI if I remember correctly. The rest of the system I ran in -8AN lines but if you can...run it in -10AN. Larger lines means more fluid which leads to better cooling. In order to get the most out of the system get a cooler with -AN fittings on it an not some cheapo VatoZone Hayden cooler. It allows you to keep the larger lines running through the whole system and keep it all the same should you ever cut a line on the trail. Figure out the longest line in your whole system, make another one.

Hope this helps

Todd at SETO said he was running the stock pump with no issues. It looked like it worked fine all weekend. He was running big tars too.

Ok. I think I'll go the cheapest route and upgrade where needed. But does anybody now the orbital to ram equation ? Like if I run a 2x6" ram witht the first orbital, what would be my lock to lock.?????????? Snappy on nc4x4 was giving some info but never fully enlightened me in it.,not sure how to get the right numbers

So I ve been wheeling with a welded front end and going to throw my full hydro setup on the truck. I am using my back up orbital at 6.1 ci, it's a smaller displacement orbital and gives me 3.1 rotations lock to lock. I am trying to get it on before I go wheeling Sunday. Wish me luck.

Thanks...I think,

got a tc pump and bracket for 22r, pulley, pimp aluminum reservoir, 2x6" ram, orbital

All I have t d is mount everything and make my lines and we shall see how it works out. I'm excited t have steering that is capable...with a welded front end, steering isn't fun...not at all
